Getting Started

What to Expect in Your First Session with Empower Fitness PT

Most of our clients have done PT before. They know the clinic experience. What they don't know is what this looks like — because it's genuinely different. Here's exactly what happens when you work with us, from the moment you book to the end of your first session.
First PT session

Step 1: The Consult Call

Before we ever schedule a session, we get on a call — usually 15 minutes. I want to hear what's going on in your own words. How long has this been a problem? What have you tried? What does it stop you from doing? This isn't a sales call. It's me figuring out whether I can actually help you, and being honest if I don't think I'm the right fit.

If it makes sense to move forward, we'll schedule your first session at a location that works for you — your home, your club, your gym, or your office.

Step 2: We Come to You

On the day of your first session, I show up with everything I need. You don't need a table, equipment, or a specific space — just enough room to move. I arrive on time, every time. We get started immediately. No waiting.

Step 3: The Full Evaluation

The first session is longer than a standard session because we do a thorough evaluation before any treatment. This includes:

Step 4: We Discuss Your Plan of Care

Once I know what I'm working with, I explain exactly what I found — in plain English. Not medical jargon. I tell you what the problem actually is, why it's been persisting, and what we're going to do about it.

We discuss your goals, your schedule, and what a realistic timeline looks like. The plan fits you — not a billing template.

You will leave the first session knowing exactly what's wrong, what we're doing about it, and what to expect. No vague handouts. No 'let's see how it goes.' A real plan.

Step 5: We Get to Work

After the evaluation and plan discussion, we use the remaining time for treatment. This typically includes manual therapy — hands-on joint mobilization and soft tissue work — combined with targeted corrective exercises. Everything is explained as we go. You're an active participant in your own recovery.

What Happens After

You'll have a home exercise program specific to what we found. I'm also reachable between sessions — if something flares up, if you have a question, you can reach me directly. Most clients notice a meaningful difference within 2–4 sessions.
